Enable Digital Retrofit

Industry 4.0 presents particular issues for plant managers: OEE, condition monitoring, predictive maintenance and production optimisation only make sense if all the machinery is included. Having said that, not all machines and facilities can be connected without adding more IT systems. MICA enables a digital retrofit every time – whether it’s a 100-year-old steam engine or a ten-year-old milling machine.

Cost - Saving

The one-time investment for MICA is significantly lower compared to complete industrial PCs. There are no licensing or leasing fees. The open development environment allows inexpensive prototyping and development, even for multiple projects. The power consumption for the base version is less than 5 watts.

Compact Size

Thanks to its compact dimensions (13 x 8 x 3.5 cm), the MICA can be discreetly installed on machines and facilities; it also fits directly onto the DIN rail in an electrical cabinet. Due to low power-consumption (5-15 Watt, dependent on your MICA-version) and installed Power-over-Ethernet and 24V, there will be no problems concerning power supply.

Virtualised

MICA's Virtual Industrial Computing allows you to simultaneously operate multiple sensors, field devices or processes – independently and isolated from one another. If an application changes, only the corresponding Linux Container is affected. The rest of the system continues.

Modular

The modular design and open platform allows you to develop and integrate functional PCBs and matching front panels according to your needs, without changing the form factor or the degree of protection.

For Industrial Purposes

MICA is extremely robust. The substantial aluminium housing has a protection class of IP67 as well as temperature- and shock-resistant electronics, which is ideal for industry’s and rail,’s rough environments.

Open Source

MICA's Linux-based open source approach permits you to choose the development environment and programming language. This means that applications can be created quickly and safely.

Easy to Use

The touch-optimised interface for end users and administrators is implemented entirely in HTML5 and JavaScript. It can be customised by developers without any special tools.
